Stem Cell Treatment

What is stem cell therapy?

Regenerative medicine is the most advanced medical field today, and new results are being reported every day.

Regenerative medicine is a treatment method using cells and tissues, and it opens up new treatment avenues for diseases that have been difficult to treat until now. The human body is made up of approximately 60 trillion cells, each of which has a specific role depending on its function, such as muscle or nerve. However, there are special cells that have no fixed role and have the potential to transform into various types of cells.

These are “stem cells. Stem cells” have the ability to repair and regenerate cells and tissues that have lost their original function due to disease. Stem cell regeneration therapy” is a treatment method that take full advantage of this ability.

What are stem cells?

Our body is made up of approximately 60 trillion cells of more than 200 different types, and each of these cells starts out as a single “fertilized egg.” These fertilized eggs undergo cell division repeatedly to increase their numbers.

In addition, during this process, each cell “differentiates” and acquires a form and function suitable for its role. Each cell then has a role, such as muscle cells for muscles and nerve cells for nerves, and continues to amplify and differentiate. Like skin and blood, each cell has a short lifespan, and these cells have the ability to regenerate and replace dead, damaged, or missing cells to maintain tissues and when we are injured or sick, with cells that have the ability to replenish lost functions.

Cells with these important abilities are called “stem cells.” Thanks to these stem cells, we can grow from a fertilized egg and maintain our bodies even after we become adults.

Two Abilities of Stem Cells

Differentiation ability is the ability to change into various body-building cells, such as skin cells and blood cells.

Self-renewal ability is the ability to divide into new cells with exactly the same ability as the original, or in other words, the ability of a stem cell to divide into more stem cells.
