STEP 2
PRP hair treatment
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) hair regeneration treatment that both women and men can receive with confidence.
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a so-called platelet-concentrated liquid, which is made by centrifuging the patient’s own blood and extracting platelets. Platelets contain various types of growth factors (cytokines), which help cells proliferate and activate tissues.
Since factors work in combination, injecting PRP into tissues can improve scars as well as treat thinning hair. In particular, PRP is considered to have an “anti-apoptotic” effect on hair roots. Anti-apoptotic modulators activated by PRP prolong the survival of dermal papilla cells in the hair cycle.
Growth factors produced from these cells act on dormant hair follicle stem cells, activating them and switching their transition from telogen (“resting”) to anagen (“growth”) phase, thereby promoting hair growth.
In other words, PRP can prevent the death of the cells that form the basis of hair, lengthen cell lifespan, promote differentiation of hair root stem cells, and prolong the growth phase of the hair cycle.
PRP also stimulates the regeneration of blood vessels around hair roots and therefore it is considered that it decreases hair loss and increases the number of growing hairs. PRP hair-growth treatment uses the patient’s own blood. Therefore, patients do not have to worry about allergies or adverse effects, and it is extremely safe compared to other hair growth treatments.
